    Why preparation is crucial

Properly preparing the apartment is the key to effective and safe insect control. Preparation is half the success!

The treatment usually takes 20–50 minutes, depending on the size and number of rooms. During the service only the technician in a protective suit and gas mask may stay inside.

After the treatment: when to return and how to air the flat

Do not enter the apartment for 6 hours.

For the first 4 hours keep the rooms closed so the products can spread, settle and dry. Then ventilate for 2 hours.

Preparing the apartment step by step

Below you will find a practical checklist — following it makes the technician’s work easier and increases the effectiveness of the treatment.

    1. Leave the apartment with all pets

All household members and pets (dogs, cats, etc.) must leave. Take bowls, food, beds and toys.

Cover aquariums tightly with foil and switch off the filter/aeration. Secure terrariums as well.

Keep animals outside the apartment for the duration of the treatment and drying (at least 2–4 hours afterwards).

    2. Provide access to skirting boards

Move furniture, beds and appliances 15–30 cm away from the walls. If possible, remove the skirting boards.

    3. Remove decorations from walls

Put away paintings, clocks, photos and other decorations. Protect delicate items.

    4. Disconnect and protect electronic equipment

Unplug all devices. Cover TVs, monitors and other electronics with foil or fabric.

    5. Store food, dishes and cosmetics

Kitchen: place any open food in the fridge or airtight containers. Put dishes, cutlery and small appliances into cupboards or cover them with foil.

Bathroom: put away toothbrushes, towels and open cosmetics. Protect personal hygiene items in plastic bags.

    6. Close windows and ventilation grilles

Right before the treatment, close all windows tightly and seal the ventilation grilles.

    7. Ensure access to water and electricity

The technician needs easy access to a tap and power outlets.

    Living room and bedroom: additionally

Remove bed linen and wash it at a minimum of 60°C. Potted plants can usually stay unless the technician advises otherwise.

    Cleaning after insect control

Use regular detergent and water (rubber gloves are recommended).

Do not wash: floors within 15–20 cm of the walls, under and around beds/furniture — the products need to keep working there.

Thoroughly wash: dishes, sink, kitchen countertops, tables, door handles, toilet and all surfaces that come into contact with skin and food.

Do not remove the products accidentally — they continue to kill pests!
